Each year to celebrate excellence and achievements among the students’ body and the society at large, the body organizes an award ceremony to recognize people and organizations that have contributed immensely to the practice of Journalism in Nigeria and the lives of students.
The award is based on merit and the result generated by popular demand through voting, so kindly help us nominate your preferred choice for the following awards

JSA EXTENDS FREE REGISTRATION
Free Registration for students
In order to beat the deadline of February 4 for registration of full time students for the forthcoming exams, leading students' union, JSA LASU has extended the period of registration of students. The new time is now 9:00 am- 7:30pm daily.
The laudable initiative introduced by the leadership of the association, weeks ago have saved most students of the department from wrong registration. it has also helped them save their money as they are registered free with a print out of their form. It is the first of its kind in students' unionism.
According to the Vice President, Adeyemi Adekunle, "we are always ready to serve the students hence the introduction of students friendly policies by his excellency, comrade Alade Abiodun/ The registration is free and please dont give anybody your pin, kindly come to the JSA library and get registered at no cost".

JSA elects leaders
Member of the Journalism Students Association will elect her leaders for the next academic session today.
it is the first time the association will holds a keenly contested election since her formation an academic session ago.
Jostling for the post of the president are former Vice president, MSSN-LASU, Olayinka Toyeeb and the former Undersecretary, LASU SPC, Faleke Olumide. During the presidential debate and manifesto presentation, they both promised to give their best to the department if elected with student friendly and academic oriented programmes. Afolabi Khadija Adeola and Samuel Titilayo are in a contest for the financial secretary position while Ogunmefun Olaoluwapo and Wahab Akinbayo will hope to upset each other for the post of the welfare director.
other aspirants for various positions include, Joseph Damilola (VP), Debona Alero (Gen. Sec), Dada Michael (P.R.O), Aguguo Cynthia (Social Director), Olajubu Michael (Treasurer), Dada Adekunle (Sports Director), Tunwagun Oluwafemi (Asst. Welfare Director), Asomba Timothy (AGS).

Journalism students' Association humbly invites you to her Triple Gold ceremony holding on 25th January, 2011.
The association will officially opens her library, launches a weekly newspaper and holds her election on Tuesday, 25th January, 2011 by 12:00 noon at LASU, School of communication.

JSA STRIKES TRIPLE..opens library, launches newspaper, holds election.....
In her usual way of striking gold and leading the pack, Journalism students' Association will officially opens the first ever students' association library on Tuesday, 25th January, 2011. The library will help students in their research.
In a related development, the association will also launch her newspaper (another first) on that day. The newspaper will be the official voice of Lagos State University, Adebola Adegunwa school of communication.
meanwhile the association will elect new leaders on the said date, to steer the affair of the body for the next one academic year.
